Loverly-loverly plates

I love the art work of Gil Elvgren, so I have decided to incorporate his art work in to my plate decoration.

(NOT Gil Elvgren)

I think they look bloomin' lovely!

Tattoo Art

Well, I have discovered a new type of art that I am becoming fascinated with - tattoo art.

I've never had a tattoo, nor have I ever desired one, but just lately, I am getting more and more turned-around to the idea of getting one.

I am particularly liking the tattoos based on 50s pin ups, and as a result, I am also liking the art and style from this period as well.

Gorgeous!!!!

I just love the look of vintage sewing patterns and the style of drawing to depict the models of the time.

Sooooo elegant....

As a result, this week I have been making decoupage plates with this theme in mind, still early days, but I am LOVIN' the look...

TIME TO "BLOG"

A DRESS, NOT A BAG...
Just a quick something, as it has been pointed out to me that I've yet to write anything...

This blog was mainly meant to be about sewing, but will probably include anything and everything, so no doubt this'll become a mixed bag.

Trying out dressmaking at the moment, however, it is soooo hard.  Patterns are like following instructions on how to put an MFI wardrobe together, so you either get them easily, or you don't.  I definitely do not.  But good old YouTube cos it's currently teaching me everything I know.  I finished a dress for my eldest daughter yesterday, who announced she would never wear it (for crying out loud - she's 4!!)

My next project is a skirt for me... hmmm, I'll probably never wear it either.
